Quad biking is fun – especially when it’s off-road across our beautiful island of Boa Vista. The quad bike tours are not guided by us personally, but we have selected a strong partner for you. It is best to bring a face mask to protect you from dust. If necessary, you can also purchase a scarf from Quadzone for 5 euros.

– Quad Zone is the most established provider of quad bike tours on Boa Vista, but also the largest – so you have to expect that the tours take place in a relatively large group – you benefit from very experienced guides who all speak English – both the North Tour and the South Tour take place daily in the morning and in the afternoon – the only exceptions are the 1st day of the tour. The only exceptions are 1 May, 25 December and 1 January – so you can choose your preferred date very flexibly – You will be picked up at your hotel by a transfer from Quadzone and taken back to your hotel after the 2 or 4-hour drive
  • Driving licence – does not have to be the original, but a copy or photo
  • Minimum age of driver 18 years
  • Underage passengers must be at least 7 years old and require a declaration of consent from their parents
You will be picked up from your holiday accommodation (a transfer from Quadzone), then it’s off to Rabil to Quad Zone. You will first receive a detailed briefing, safety instructions and a test drive on the in-house course is also possible. You are required to sign a declaration of liability, which states, for example, that you must follow the instructions of the guides and that no risky overtaking manoeuvres are permitted. After the tour, you will return to your accommodation. You pay for the tour directly on site before setting off, either in cash in euros or escudos (exchange rate 1:110) or by credit card.

Quad North Trip

85 € single quad / 100 € double quad – duration approx. 4 hours

  • Village of Rabil with a stop at the pottery
  • „Deserto Viana“ – beautiful desert landscape
  • village of Bofareira – here you can buy cold drinks in a small bar with attached souvenir shop
  • shipwreck „Cabo Santa Maria“

Quad South Trip

85 € single quad / 100 € double quad – duration approx. 4 hours

  • On a tarmac road we first go to the oldest village on Boa Vista to Povoacao Velha, short stop & possibility to buy cold drinks
  • off road we go to the beach „Santa Monica“
  • off road further to the beach „Varandinha“
  • breathtaking drive through the dunes of „Morro d’Areia“
  • Return to the starting point

Buggy Trip

110 € per buggy (single or double occupancy) – duration approx. 2 hours

  • through the village of Rabil towards the west coast – behind the hotel „RIU Karamboa“ over dusty tracks through the dry river bed to the restored chapel „Fatima“ north of the capital Sal Rei
  • after a stop we drive through the capital towards the beach „Estoril“
  • photo stop on the large sand dune
  • return journey over partly paved and partly dusty tracks to the starting point

Individual quad bike hire

It is also possible to hire a quad bike and then explore the island independently. Please note, however, that there is hardly any signposting on the island. The only 2 petrol stations are located in the capital Sal Rei.

A deposit of 200 euros in cash is required for the hire.

The original driving licence must be presented, a copy or photo is not sufficient.

The hire period is from 9 am to 6 pm. You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Quadzone, where you will pick up the quad bike. After returning the quad you will have a transfer back to the hotel.

The price for the rental is 110 euros, petrol is not included, so it must be filled up before return.
